Cynthia Castaneda posted the most closed transactions, the highest dollar volume in sales and the most new listings for February at Weichert, Realtors – Heiden Homes Realty. Jon Nash was second in dollar volume and Kathy Tomkins was third.

Cynthia has been a realtor since July 7, 2007 (7/7/7), and claims that was her lucky day. She has managed to maintain being a personal care provider for those in need while also making time for her real estate career.

Cynthia has been married to Nicolas Castaneda for 32 years, and Valentine’s Day was their anniversary. She says Nicolas has been the backbone for her, as he has encouraged her to be the best she can be. The couple has two adult children: Dominique, a daughter who works at Target, and Nicholas Brandon, who serves in the Army and is stationed in Germany. Both are graduates of Central High School in Grand Junction. Cynthia and Nicolas have also helped people by allowing them to stay in their home.

Cynthia attributes her success to the Lord and strives to help those in need and enjoys working with first-time homebuyers.

Jon Nash is a native of Kansas who moved to Vernal, Utah at a young age. He’s a graduate of Uintah High School, where he was junior class president and lettered in football and track. He focused on math, music and sports. Jon lived in Salt Lake City for 25 years, and has worked in the heating and air conditioning business for more than 20 years. He moved to Grand Junction two years ago and owns Comfort Zone Heating and Air.

Jon married Misty Young on New Year’s Day this year. Misty, MSN, RN, NE-BC, is the Director of Medical Surgical Services line at St. Mary’s Hospital.

Jon has three adult children. Jessica lives in Vernal; Amelia lives in Salt Lake City and works for Discover Card, on the banking side of the business; and, Chance attends Colorado Mesa University, working toward a Business Degree. Jon also raised two stepsons: Nick Falbo, who is a firefighter in Phoenix and Frankie, who is a car salesman in Salt Lake City. Jon enjoyed raising and coaching them in numerous sports.

Jon enjoys watching and attending sports events, especially football and hockey. He also enjoys live music and is a fan of 1980s rock. He also loves the outdoors, and activities that include camping, fishing, boating, hunting and golfing.

Kathy Tomkins has a wealth of construction and mobile home experience in addition to her work as a realtor. She previously owned Manufactured Home Parts, a mobile home supply business, and is an unlimited general contractor. She specialized in manufactured home sales and construction at Royal T’s Construction, LLC and she’s a licensed mobile home dealer. Tomkins previously owned a heavy equipment construction company for eight years and started a gravel pit in 1998.

Kathy has three children, Joe Tomkins II, DeDee Case and A.K. Weaver, a graduate of Fruita Monument High School. Tomkins has two grandchildren, Shannia Case and Kendra Tomkins.
